You Won’t Believe These VHS Board Games Exist!

So the summer of 2016 is officially going to be known as the year the VCR died. Yes, sadly the Funai Corporation, who happens to be the last producer of the VCR, has decided to call it quits on the dated technology once and for all. As I write this, it’s been a full month since the last VCR rolled off the line and was shipped somewhere to be sold to people who probably live in a time loop they can’t escape from…. I honestly don’t know how anyone would need a VCR these days unless they were stuck in a time loop and couldn’t take DVDs with them. To celebrate the passing of an entertainment giant, here’s a list of “interactive” games which used VHS tapes to bring gaming to a whole new level.

1. Wayne’s World

WAYNE’S WORLD, WAYNE’S WORLD, PARTY TIME, EXCELLENT! WEEDLY WEEDLY WEEDLY WOOOoooOOOOooooOO!! Ah yes, Wayne’s World is the ultimate party movie and this game is definitely the cheesiest thing ever. Basically, you answer some pop questions, listen for sounds that are assigned during the game, try and collect back stage passes and make it to party central! At one point, Garth ponders whether we think he’s just on the screen to eat up game time and describes himself as the equivalent to hamburger helper! I REMEMBER HAMBURGER HELPER!
