A Closer Look At Eldritch Moon – Critical Hits and Misses
When my buddies, DangerChris and JackDupp wanted to start this website, one of the first goddamn things we talked about was using it as an excuse to buy a box of boosters for the new set: Eldritch Moon. Personally for me, this was a big event; I’d never been part of something so oddly excessive before and I wanted to cross it off my bucket list. I knew there was going to be a TON of useless cards that I’d never use and I also knew I had no where to keep those useless cards… but I still wanted them. We cracked boosters, cracked jokes and cracked beers, all in the name of AttackPhase; my sweaty palms ripped at foil packaging with a hunger seldom experienced and my eyes danced over the bounty of cards with near frenzied pace. Anyway, a couple weeks later we got together again and tried to relive the magic with yet another box of boosters and it was a flat event. Now, I’m not sure if it was because we’d already been there but it just wasn’t the same; the rares and mythic rares we got weren’t as good, though JackDupp caught the silver lining when he pulled a Gisa and Geralf: the commander he wanted for his new zombie deck.
I can say that after spending close to 200 dollars on Eldritch Moon boosters that I’m somewhat of an expert on what the set has to offer me. For austerities sake, I’ve only included rares and mythic rares that I personally pulled….. here’s the best of the best and a variety of stupid, janky cards I ended up with:
